Patient rights

As a patient within the Danish healthcare system, you have certain rights. This includes, for example, the right to short waiting times, the opportunity to freely choose a hospital, and the right to file a complaint.

Unwanted incidents

Sometimes, unwanted events occur. In order for us to learn from these and avoid them in the future, you as a patient or relative have the opportunity to report an adverse event to the Danish Patient Safety Authority.

Patient complaints

If you wish to complain about the medical treatment you have received or any violations of patient rights, you can contact the Danish Patient Complaints Board (Styrelsen for Patientklager).

If a patient only wants to apply for compensation, it is possible to submit a claim directly to the Patient Compensation.

The Danish Patient Safety Authority (Styrelsen for Patientsikkerhed) also handles complaints regarding the Patient Compensation's decisions on compensation.

Praise and complaints

Our goal is for you as a patient to be satisfied and feel secure with the treatment. We do our best to achieve this goal. If, however, you feel that we are not meeting the goal or your expectations, we welcome your feedback.
